AtlanticWorks Ltd (“we”, “us”) is a company registered in England and Wales. We are committed to protecting the personal data of everyone we work with — college staff, host employers, and, where placements proceed, students and their families. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

Who we are

AtlanticWorks Ltd organises international work placements in Porto, Portugal for UK further education colleges. For data protection purposes we are the controller of the personal data described below. Contact: info@atlanticworks.co.uk.

What we collect and why

Enquiries and business contacts. When you contact us or book a call, we collect your name, organisation, role, email and phone number, and the content of your message. We use this to respond, plan work together and keep normal business records. Legal basis: legitimate interests.

Placement delivery. Where a college engages us, we process the information needed to organise and safeguard placements — participant names, dates of birth, contact details, emergency contacts, and relevant support or medical needs shared with consent via the college. Legal bases: performance of a contract, legal obligation (safeguarding), and consent where required for special category data.

Website. Our website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function. Form submissions are processed by Webflow, our hosting provider.

Sharing

We share placement information only with those who need it to deliver and safeguard the programme: vetted host employers, accommodation providers, our Porto coordination team, and the sending college. We never sell personal data, and we do not use student data for marketing.

International transfers

Placement delivery involves transferring relevant data to Portugal, which is covered by UK adequacy regulations for the EU.

Retention

Enquiry data is kept for up to 2 years. Placement records are kept for the period required by the funding body's audit rules, then securely deleted. Safeguarding records are retained in line with statutory guidance.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any right, email info@atlanticworks.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
